The Night of the Fatal Stabbing

The incident occurred in Southampton on December 3, 2025, after Nowak had spent the evening celebrating the end of the university semester with friends. Prosecutors told Southampton Crown Court that an altercation developed between Nowak and 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa. According to court evidence, Digwa allegedly carried a large bladed weapon described during proceedings as a Sikh ceremonial knife, commonly referred to as a kirpan or shastar.

Prosecutors allege that Digwa stabbed Nowak multiple times during the confrontation. Court testimony indicated that Nowak suffered fatal injuries including a wound to the chest. Evidence presented during the trial suggests that after being stabbed, the teenager attempted to escape while seriously injured. Witness accounts and forensic evidence reportedly showed a trail of blood as he tried to flee the scene. 

The prosecution claims Digwa aggressively pursued the injured student after the stabbing. Digwa denies murder and maintains that he acted in self-defense. The criminal trial remains ongoing.
